No matter how exciting it might sound and rosy it might seem, “Love at first sight” isn’t real. It’s a well-crafted story conducted by the media and drilled into the hearts and minds of young lovers.

Of course, the first sight of that special someone is beautiful. Ethereal. Unforgettable. But that’s still just a sight!

You see him. You like him. End of discussion. No need to drag it till love. Love doesn’t happen that way.

The very first sight of a person can make you feel attracted. You may desire a closer look. A brief conversation. A few moments of company. A little bit of intimacy as well.

But not love!

Love takes time. The little seedlings that germinate in your heart when you find the right guy takes time to bloom into full-fledged saplings and only then can you have the immersive experience that love is all about.

The first sight of your love is a facade, at least most of the time. The very first sight is misleading. For when you’re truly into each other, the rose-tinted glasses get removed from your eyes and all the drool-worthy things that you had fallen for on the very first day, escape into the thin air.

A sight only considers the external appearance and behaviour of a person. To be honest, when we find someone attractive in the very first place, we don’t really have the time or the interest to delve deeper into the soul of the person who we are going gaga over.

So, it’s high time that we reject the concept of love at first sight. Because it’s stupid. It’s unreal.

Instead, let’s raise the toast for “Love at every sight.”

After all, love needs to happen every day. Isn’t it?
